Programs and Rates
Consultation

During the consultation you will be asked to answer some basic health questions. Based on this I will be able to determine what level of activity is right for you. I will also be able to answer any questions you have about the training process and what the expectations will be on both sides.

Assessment & Orientation

A fitness assessment will give a clear indication of your current fitness level/health status and provide a basis for which to compare improvement. The program orientation portion of the session will be used to show proper technique for some key exercises. Client forms and a Par-Q (physical activity readiness questionnaire) must be completed prior to the fitness assessment.

Personal Training Sessions

Custom programs are designed based on your fitness assessment and your responses on the client questionnaire. Each training session will consist of a combination of: warm-up, cardio, strength training and flexibility. The appropriate length of each portion will be determined during the fitness assessment. Client forms and a Par-Q (physical activity readiness questionnaire) must be completed prior to the fitness assessment. When purchasing packages, the fitness assessment and program orientation will take place at the first session. If purchasing a single session clients must also purchase a fitness assessment to take place prior to the first session (some exceptions may apply).


Using client information and the fitness assessment, we will work together to find the best program to achieve your desired goals. Choosing exercises you enjoy will be key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle for years to come!

Short on time? Focusing on strength and flexibility, you will be taken through a strength training routine that will emphasize compound movements. The flexibility portion will focus on the major muscle groups.

Rather train with a friend? While each partner of the duo will have a customized program designed for them, the three of us will have personal training sessions as a group. Not available as a single session. Some restrictions apply.

$30 per person/session

About Me

In late 2000, I was watching a re-broadcast of the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii and thought "I'd like to do one of those one day." In the spring of 2001, I started training for a triathlon. I hadn't been physically active in almost a decade, but nonetheless I finished my first triathlon in July of 2001, finishing two minutes before the cut off time. In spite of the toughness of the race, I was hooked. Over the next 6 years I competed in over 25 triathlons/duathlons, numerous half marathons, the Toronto Marathon and the Around the Bay Road Race.

In 2007, years of training combined with a full time job left me feeling burnt out and I decided to take a break. After four years of sporadic workouts (but lots of activity thanks to my dog, Tucker), I decided to return to training with the hopes of running my second marathon in the fall of 2012.

After being solicited for exercise advice numerous times by friends and colleagues, I realized that not only did I desire physical health and wellness for myself, but for others as well. In the summer of 2011, I participated in the Can-Fit-Pro (Canadian Fitness Professionals) Personal Training Specialist course. I was certified as a Personal Training Specialist in October 2011.

My goal as a personal trainer is to bring health and wellness to everyone, regardless of age.

In my "spare" time I can be found backstage at the Shaw Festival where I work as an Assistant Stage Manager.
